A failed gardener is sometimes just a better son

I had great intention of having a great back yard garden. Plans were discussed, seeds sprouted indoors, back yard tilled, fenced in and trellised. Life had different plans for the garden. This summer, I've been taking care of my dad more than I have my garden. I'm okay with that.

The garden wasn't a complete bust though. We did manage to get some zucchini and squash with a handful of sweet corn and beans.

I will try again next year and see what grows.

America's Oldest Farm for sale

http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/07/30/oldest.family.farm.tuttle/index.html?hpt=C2

This saddens me for a couple of reasons. 1. That no relation was willing to take on the farm. And 2. Now that it's been in the media, I'm sure someone will buy it all and convert it to commercial property and strip malls.
